Applications for Fiscal 2022 Real Estate Tax Exemptions
are now being accepted in the Middleborough Assessors Office through April 1, 2022.
If you have previously qualified for a Clause 41C ($500) or a Clause 17D ($175),
please contact our office at 508-946-2410 regarding documentation requirements.
If you have previously qualified for an exemption, we should have most of your application completed on file electronically. Please visit us during our regular business hours and we will assist you in completing your application.

The Department of Revenue and Massachusetts General Laws require the Board of Assessors to maintain a reinspection program of the properties within the community. The program consists of an inspection of all properties in Middleborough every 10 years i.e. Cyclical Inspection.
WHY ARE WE DOING A CYCLICAL REINSPECTION?
The Board of Assessors is responsible to maintain a full and fair market value of all properties in Middleborough. This can only be accomplished if the data we have is accurate. The collection and maintenance of current and accurate property inventory data is a critical element in determining uniform, fair market value.
HOW ARE WE DOING A CYCLICAL REINSPECTION?
An inspection will be completed to all properties in the town unless the property has been visited within the current 10 year cycle. The data collector will carry both a picture ID and a letter from the office. If no one is at home, the data collector will leave a door hanger to notify the homeowner that a representative from the Assessor’s Office was on the property.
